My dear Chris

At last I have found time to write you a few words – I have tried about half a dozen times today and every time I have been interrupted.

You were good to write that letter before you left – It was such a pleasant surprise. I suppose you are in the midst of all the gaiety in Sydney today – how I would love to be there too.

I went to the Review this morning and to the opening of the bridge this afternoon. There was a great crowd.

It seems such a long time since last Friday evening.  I do miss you very much. Try and not stay away long dear. I know it will not be longer than you can help.

I do hope what you say in your letter will come true – I will try so hard to fulfil my part and I know how well I can trust the rest to you.

I must close now, with very best love,

Katie

PS

I quite forgot to tell you we are giving a dance on 8 July.

Please excuse this scrap of paper but I have no time to write the letter over again as I am going to church.

Please do not trouble about those pins I asked you to get as I do not think the shop is in the Strand after all, it may have been In the Royal Arcade -but don’t put yourself out about it.

Excuse this untidy scrawl, but I am writing with an awful pen.

Katie
