My dear Chris
Alec’s letter to you just came and I opened it to see if there was one for me from Nellie – there was. I suppose you have seen Alec today, but perhaps I had better send this on in case anything prevented him going to the office.
What a pity they cannot get the motor sooner, perhaps it won’t be next week after all.
The two boys are both in bed. They are very good. I let Charlotte go out this afternoon and I took them the other side of the Bedoubt, there was no beach this side.
I always feel so lonely when night comes and it is lightening all around and I am so frightened of storms – I do wish you were here.

The water last night ran down that road beside sandon into seaside. A lot of the bathing boxes up the other end got broken. There was no performance on the pier last night and no one was allowed on it. They say it was the worst storm they have had for three years.
With love and kisses from
Your loving Katie

I suppose you will let me know which day you are coming.
