My dearest Chris,

I was very pleased to see your letter to aunt Gussie a few days since, but I hope soon to have one myself from you for you know how pleased I am to receive them.

We have had a nice time at home this voyage but am sorry to say I caught cold in October while at New Orleans and have been ill ever since. Eleven days ago the ???? caught ???? a thick fog and have been ill again. I feel very weak, but better ????

???? there I did but not able to go out. We are going to Bombay and expect to leave next week.

The Days has [sic] come over from Antwerp to finish loading. I am expecting your uncle every minute as he got into Albert Docks this morning.

I am so glad you are getting on so well. I do hope the ???? will agree with Alec, and he will do the ????. Tell him he ???? answered my letter. I wrote to him before he left home. The ???? have found time ere this I think I will send you your present Chris dear very soon. I am glad to say I can afford it better now. It has been a long time coming. Tell me if there is anything you would like better than another. Send your letter here and it will arrive about the time you do.

I hope Duncan Molison is ???? again. We expect him here today if fine. Charlie Shores has married to Alice Ward on 20 January. I have not seen ???? niece yet. They live at Caterham. I don’t think I shall be able to go there this time.

It has been miserable cold weather in London indeed all over England. They have had plenty of snow in the north.

Your aunts will have told you all their news.

I must conclude this epistle with kindest love to Alec and yourself in which everybody joins ????

Believe me dearest Chris, your affectionate Aunt

Elizth. P. Bisset

I have not seen Edie yet but hope to do so soon.
