My dearest Chris
I received your letter this morning. I thought you had forgotten to write as the letter did not arrive until 11 o’clock. I am so glad you are enjoying your trip dear and hope it will do you good.
I am afraid it is rather selfish of me, but I am so glad you are coming home tomorrow.
It does not do me any good to be away from you darling. For one thing I could not get any fonder of you than I am and I feel quite mopey without you.
We had a thunderstorm about three o’clock this morning – it has cooled the air a little.
The boy is very well, It is a great comfort having him to look after while you are away.
Jessie is coming over this afternoon. I went for a short walk yesterday.
It must have been lovely crossing the Channel on Sunday. I expect you were wishing the journey was longer.
I am living on the thought of seeing you tomorrow dear – only one more day and night without you. I am sure you must think I am a silly old goose but I mean it all really.
With love and kisses from myself and the boy
Ever your loving Wife
