My dearest love

I went up to Linden Road last night. Your letter was here when I came home. I was so disappointed when I read it, and felt so lonely.

Whenever will you come home?

What did they say they wanted you at the court yesterday if they did not? That makes it another day for you to be away. It is so miserable at night without you darling.

I try to look forward to seeing you again but it is so hard when I don’t know how long it will be.

I suppose there is no hope of seeing you tonight.

Baby is very well, but the weather is too nasty for him to go out – it is enough to give anyone the blues.

I just had a note from Edie. Florence has a situation.

I am glad you like the Palace. I should like to have been with you.

I hope you are well and comfortable at the hotel. Take care of your dear old self.

With love and kisses from us both

Your loving wife

Katie Elmslie

Babs has just written you a letter.
