Westgate on Sea

2 September 1897

My dear Katie,

I am so glad to hear Chris is married and I am sure I shall be very fond of you dear. I thought there was something from little hints in his letters.

I tell Alex it will be his turn next. I gave him a piece of wedding cake to sleep on the other night and to put seven pieces of paper with it a name on each, and each morning to pull out one, the last paper left would be the one – but he would not do it, nasty boy.

I am looking forward to seeing you both home. I am staying at Westgate for my holiday, but of course shall be home before you arrive dear.

With love.

Believe me, your affectionate Sister
